For those of us who struggled with Advanced Security in ColdFusion prior to CFMX,
condolences to us all. I was on the Spectra team at Allaire and it was sometimes
similar to herding cats. It took ages to get all organized and then someone sneezed
and back we went again. Anyhow, Rob Rusher has a good article which [...]
CFMX introduced us to a workable native security infrastructure in ColdFusion
with the CFLOGIN, CFLOGOUT etc tags. Securing apps has always been a major need
in all that we do and this livedoc from Macromedia addresses the issue of the
storage and persistence of the security pieces in CF. It’’s handy to refer to
to jog memories, hence our [...]
Tom Muck is a luminary in the Macromedia Dreamweaver and other worlds. We have all experienced the comparative slow-down of starting Dreamweaver in comparison to Homesite, CF Studio and other beloved IDE’’s. Here at Webapper we see an inevitable need to migrate to Dreamweaver as the long-term future of Homesite and Studio are [...]
Fusedocs turned on a light bulb for us at Webapper in providing an efficient way of documenting ColdFusion templates. We always had “home-grown” methods for documenting and commenting but liked the ubiquity and relative predictability of Fusedocs. We are still trying to solidify our CF documentation overall as we move more into using [...]
I was doing my usual checking of Fullasagoog this afternoon and saw a few from Steve Nelson. Steves posts are always of interest as we are very much a Fusebox Mach-ii shop, more focused on Fusebox in current projects. Steve pretty much created Fusebox and of course other luminaries contributed as Fusebox evolved. [...]
For those of you lucky enough to see the really only great film in the Desperado; series “El Mariachi” there is a classic line with a spanish expletive, What is this #%^&***! Maricahi day!?. Well today is SQL Server day at Webapper, or so it seems. One of our clients needed some advice regarding [...]
Good heavens five days no posts, disgraceful on our parts, we are just blindingly busy at present. Anyhow, we often want to find useful stuff quickly and for some reason can”t just when we need it-them. That really is the whole purpose of this blog, a pack-rats paradise (bit lofty that ;o) for all of [...]
There are various levels of latent difficulties when using Internet Explorer 6.0 and Session Management out on the open Internet. It’’s history that Microsoft made significant changes to the privacy settings in IE 6.0. This was in an attempt to enhance the privacy of IE 6 users, the irony of that is the levels of [...]
Looking around for information relating to replication techniques with MySQL and we found an article by Jeremy Zawodny who at the time of creating this well laid out piece was an engineer at Yahoo (and may still be). What surprised us is the fact that Yahoo apparently rely heavily on MySQL, according to Jeremy Zawodny [...]
It’’s MySQL day (or so it would seem). MySQL just announced that they will add clustering or high-availability to MySQL. This is apparently slated to be added to MySQL in April 2004. Version 5.x currently still in beta also adds Stored Procedure support. These are interesting and exciting times.
