Windows 2000 Disabling Unecessary Services

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Mike Brunt @ 12:00 am
A standard install of Windows 2000 sets up a lot of services to run by default. In practice many of these are not needed and at best consume resources and at worst impact security. The web site I have a link to below is pretty good at recommending what services can be disabled for a [...]

UML Diagrams For Mach-ii On Mach-ii Site

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Mike Brunt @ 12:00 am
I don”t remember seeing the three UML diagrams up on the Mach-ii site before so if they have been there for ages, apologies. Anyhow they are certainly helpful so I am blogging this for our sake at Webapper. They are hard to read in a browser but if you download them locally and use a [...]

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Mike Brunt @ 12:00 am
Excuse the Christmas btw I know that is somewhat politically incorrect but I spent my first 40 years in England and we just call it so there. Internet Essentials MAE West MAE East etc

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Mike Brunt @ 12:00 am
Mae West was a rather funny and slightly naughty lady from some years ago. She had many famous lines. Is that a Gigabit Ethernet Switch in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me! was almost one. The MAE Internet Exchange Facilities are the main points where ISP’’s can interconnect. CF Etc Developers Journals In Flash Paper?

Filed under: Flex & Flash — Mike Brunt @ 12:00 am
We just tried something; took a 52 page ColdFusion Developers Journal in PDF (my favorite) and created a Flash Paper version. The load time of the Flash Paper version (all 52 pages with graphics etc) in a browser is astoundingly fast in comparison. Does anyone know if Syscon is and are considering putting out the [...]
