On November 20, 2002 Microsoft released a new advisory regarding a security flaw in MDAC. “Microsoft’’s advisory describes a new buffer overflow vulnerability that affects all versions of MDAC prior to 2.7. That means only
Windows XP remains unaffected by this flaw. According to Microsoft,
the overflow results because a particular component within MDAC does
not properly verify [...]
This is very often a question asked on the ColdFusion mailing lists and one of the problems in finding this out is that many organizations use ColdFusion on Intranets and behind firewalls etc. Ben Forta has a listing here and Michael Greenberg is starting to compile a list also, which you can find here.
We recently posted an entry about how good CFScript is and yet how poor the documentation is. Well Charles Arehart set us straight (thanks Charles as always). Macromedia have given us a really good in-depth resource for CFScript in the MX docs here.

For those of us who have watched the unjust complaints and seen the attention Macromedia have given to the web community in return, this is marvelous news and very well deserved. Flash, Java, ColdFusion, Web Services, so many opportunities so little time!

FlashCfm.com is a really good resource for all of us interested in using Flash in our ColdFusion development projects. There are tutorials, forums, a knowledge base, a mailing list and more. Flash really can help us to meet complex GUI challenges that can be difficult to attain with JavaScript and DHTML.
